Upright Action

Directions to obtain an even touch in a Blüthner upright piano

Please follow the instructions in the given order:

1. Setting -up
The jack should fall into position underneath the knuckle when the key after having been pressed down is slowly released.

2. Let off
By turning the let off button the hammer is released 3 mm before touching the strings.

3. Check
The hammers should check 18 mm from the strings.

4. Damper lift
The spoon at the end of the action lever should be bend in that way that it lifts the damper lever when the hammer is at half blow.

5. Touch
By slowly depressing the key the hammer is brought to the release point With only slightly more pressure it should fall back. The touch is 10 mm.
